Photoshop CC: Layer Filtering, Isolation Mode

Photoshop CS6 introduced controls in the Layers panel that let you view and modify only certain types of layers, which made managing layers easier. In Photoshop CC, you can further filter your layers by opting to only work with the selected layer, effectively creating an Isolation Mode. For more on Layer Filtering, see our previous post here https://tinytutorials.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/photoshop-cs6-layer-filtering/

  • “Selected” is now an option within Layer Filters. Photoshop will only display selected layers when the filter is turned on.
  • Alternatively, go to Select > Isolate Layers
