InDesign CS6: Split Window View

There’s a new function called Split Window in InDesign CS6 that is similar to opening up a new window of the same document. Instead of going to Window>Arrange > New window, use Window > Arrange > Split Window.  The two functions are similar, but Split Window splits the same document tab within the same window, versus having the second view as a new window. What’s nice though, is that there is a button within the document window to turn it on and off, much easier to use than the new window!

Edit: The option is available as part of a the alternate layout /pages panel options, as “Split Window to Compare Layouts“. So i guess this is how it’s primarily intended to be used.
