Photoshop Vector Output

You can create vector content in Photoshop, but most of the time that information gets rasterized when you export the content. To retain vector information:

  • Save as Photoshop EPS, or as Photoshop PDF
  • If you have fonts, make sure the fonts aren’t missing, and the text layers are updated.
  • Font information and shapes (vector masks) will retain vector information. Vector smart objects, however, will not.
  • If you try to re-open your EPS/PDF file using Photoshop, Photoshop will ask to rasterize the file. You probably don’t want that.
