Better Tab Leaders in InDesign

I am not a fan of tabs. They are hard set to the text frame size, and do not reflow well. This is a way to set up tab with leaders and still have the flexibility to change your text frame.

Set up your text, instead of a regular tab, use a Right Indent Tab [Type > Special Character > Other > Right Indent Tab].

Then, pull up your Tabs panel and drag out a manual tab stop anywhere in the ruler, and define a leader. it doesn’t matter where the tab position is!. The space for the tab will automatically fill in with the leader character, AND if you resize the frame, the space will shrink and grow automatically!
